Thanks for GLantern for motivating and organizing this little ride. T'was cold to start but as the day went on it warmed up nicely. Since it was an "off season" ride, we stopped often which gave me a chance to consume my favorite gas station liquid candy, some delicious chicken bits, and on the way home, more gas station liquid candy, all in all a successful day!
GL, thanks again for showing me your loop, once the roads are dry, warm, and clean, I'll make it out there again so we can ride them proper. Mook, was really great to see you back on the bike again, don't be a stranger! Yauhen, was great to meet and ride with you, looking forward to rolling with you again this year. Incidentally, you're the first person that I've met through
this
forum and have ridden with... I'm hoping that this place will bring more riders from this and other areas together, which was one of the original purposes in creating this place, so a big "
" to us all!
A chilly start... "Where's Mookie?!" Apparently he was spending his morning getting permission from Ms.Mookie to ride...
Bling bling shock! Thanks again Cru!!
Mookie's ride resurrected from the dead, great job putting it back together Mook!
One BIGASS duck
3 duc(k)s and a pig
Yauhen's trusty steed that may or may not have gotten a flat
True to form, it wouldn't be a US/SU ride w/o some drama...
me - "Hey GL, how're we doing on gas?" GL - "My light came on 30 miles ago, but I'll make it to the next stop no problem." me - "mmmmmmm a... ok..."
2 miles later, GL pulls over. Why? Do you need to ask? He pulled over cause he ran out of gas
So Yauhen and I head to the gas station which was a whole 2 miles away. Yauhen very kindly buys a bottle of Gatorade, dumps it out and fill it with gas...
Gatorade. "Is it in you?" It's not in me but it's for damn sure in GL's Duc!
A close up -
My final reward the day... something I carried around in my pocket all day...
Asiago bagels!!!
Til next time folks...

It was great to FINALLY be back on the bike again. It took some convincing but the boss is ok w/me riding again. Good to meet you Yauhan, good to see GC and GL again. It was a good ride for me, nice and slow to get back into the swing of things. ( and why didn`t I get clip-ons sooner? I love `em)
It wasn`t that cold. I was actually almost comfortable until the slab home made my throttle hand numb. It just took 1 UA cold gear, Three thermal shirts and pants, a long sleave heavy T, running pants, two pairs of good snowboard socks, full helmet liner, neck muff, glove liners, and plastic gloves underneath. I almost managed to fit it under my leathers until my left leg zipper broke. Nothing a little electrical tape wouldn`t fix.
Sorry I had to bail a little early but I didn`t want to push it with the boss my first day out this year. She`s never usually like that, but she`s not into me doing the whole moto thing. She just worries about me being safe.
From the look of Yauhan`s face in the pic it looks like it was a good time when GL ran out of gas about ten minutes from his house.
To the start of a good season !

GL, thanks for organizing the ride! GC, thanks for meeting me in Brooklyn and pointing towards Manhattan on the way back! (Your "me - there, you - there" gestures were awesome). Mookieo2, thanks for coming out with us!
I had a great time and I was only half hour late for work - nobody even noticed;D
Hope to ride again with you guys. Next time may be we should pick some roads without ice patches, standing water and sand.

Awesome ride today fellas! I'm really happy we could get a decent size crew to roll! We really lucked out with the weather i barely needed my heated gear on if at all throughout the ride. Hell half the time i left the wires hanging and didn't even bother to plug them in. This was my first real test of the GPS and i have to say i am REALLY happy with how it performed. There was a point where one of my roads was closed due to ice and when i turned around and got back on to the loop it didn't try to redirect me to the closed road but to the next checkpoint instead. I had a concern if it would do this or not and it seems it is a little bit smarter than i think. I have still yet to set up the fuel gauge and all that fun stuff but i will be doing it before the next ride considering our adventure! O yeah that mount i got? It works flawlessly once i had everything locked down on it there was no vibration on the GPS and made it that much easier to handle.
I woke up on time for the ride despite my urge to stay up all night playing Fallout3, great game go buy it. And i had to find a good spot to put this!
When i arrived at panera GC and Yauhen were already there and ready to roll.
We consumed some breakfast and waited for mookie to be released by mrs mookie.
He has arrived!
Gassing up after breakfast
After hitting my favorite road people needed some coffee and a small break
GC
Yauhen
Mook, who never even tried to take any gear off since he was wrapped up in about 5 layers of clothes
We were about to continue but i had to take a quick detour to this
This stop was followed by another of my favorite roads, a jaunt through a golf course where mookie then departed from us. We headed out to sag harbor and stopped for some fresh chicken fingers with real honey mustard sauce. Apparently out here bathrooms are few and far between there was much running around trying to find one.
This lunch was quickly followed by my gas escapade. I'll never forget telling eric that everything will be ok, man did i eat those words quick. Funny thing is as we passed the first gas station which i refused to stop at i heard a loud thud and the bike cut out. It started right back up and i thought "ducatis" must be cold or something. That really meant hey you have 0.1gallons left pull the hell over! I learned this the hard way and 1 mile from the station i ran out of fuel. So yauhen and GC roll out there and i start pushing since i feel i have to do something. I get about half a mile and they come roaring back and you all seen the pictures  O and when they gave me the bottle for a second i thought it was actually gatorade since the color of the gas and that flavor are really similair. I smelled it to make sure. I am currently searching for a gatorade "Is it in you?" sticker for the duc or maybe something that says "Gatorade powered" forward any links please
And anybody know of a collapsible fuel bladder? That would be a good thing to have on rides i think
All in all a great day i couldn't have asked for a better start to the season. GC i can not wait till we can hit those roads properly and it was awesome to have you out on the island. Mookie i am super stoked you could get back out and ride the bike looks great!
I can not wait to get more rides in!
Yauhen great to meet you and next time i hope there is less dirt too! But it is some great skillbuildinng you have to admit that. I am really happy you could make it out here and you had fun. I wholeheartedly agree with what GC said about meeting people through this forum and you are the first i have ridden with through the forum as well. Good job on the site everybody and it was a great ride, i'm looking forward to the season more and more!

Nice ride guys!
I would love to go but it was kinda far from my place. If you plan to ride somewhere south (New Jersey, Princeton area) next time I am 100% in. I love winter riding.
